Directions from San Jose Airport to Garrapata State Park

  1. From the airport, take US-101 South toward Gilroy.
  2. Merge onto CA-156 West, heading toward Castroville and the Monterey Peninsula.
  3. Take CA-1 South all the way past Monterey and Carmel-by-the-Sea.
  4. Keep driving about 10-15 minutes past Carmel, and you’ll start seeing Garrapata State Park along the left (coast) side of the highway.

🪧 There’s no big entrance sign—just small gate numbers (Gates 1–19) along the road. These are your trail access points.
